FAQ's
What are Casting Directors looking for?
They want to see believability, character and authenticity. CD's are so busy dealing with so many submissions, that if a reel has bad lighting, bad audio and worse, bad acting... they'll just click onto the next one!
My reels gives you the opportunity to show them exactly what they are looking for.
What makes you
better than other companies?
-
Firstly, I value my hard earned reputation. It's earnt by consistently making reels of the highest quality. My approach is different because I start from the side of casting. Your script is crafted to really help Casting Directors by grabbing their attention within the first 10 seconds.
-
I'll provide you with a copy of the 'Casting Edit'. A condensed reel (as well as your full length scene) that shows your strength as an actor and importantly, that change in emotion or thought that Casting need to see.
-
All reels opens with you, not your scene partner. It's all about showcasing you and your character’s story.
-
We spotlight your Casting Type: CDs will quickly see your range, energy, and how you align with their breakdowns. Two contrasting scenes highlight versatility.
-
Your Choices and Believability: They'll assess your dialogue delivery, emotional range, and character reactions—all crucial for deciding if you fit the role.
-
Your Brand: A clear sense of who you are, and the actor you love being
-
CDs act as recruiters, matching actors to roles based on specific traits: age, appearance, personality, socio-economic background, skills, and voice.
-
Knowing Your Type: Confidence in your type is key. CDs need to see that consistency in your headshots, reels, and self-tapes
By focusing on these elements, your reel becomes an effective tool to grab attention and showcase your unique fit for a role.

Young actor reels for 8 yr olds+
I’m an experienced director, DBS-checked, an Equity member of 25 years, and a registered chaperone with Surrey Council. As a father of three and a children's educator for over 30 years, I bring expertise in working with young actors.
For ages 12–16, I focus on crafting reels that highlight their strengths, particularly in period drama—an ideal genre for this age group, given its casting potential. While these years can be quieter in terms of roles, a strong, well-suited reel ensures they’re ready when the right opportunity arises. For under-8s, due to time limits and the need for breaks, I can’t always capture enough takes to ensure top-quality scenes.
My priority is making shoots fun, memorable, and stress-free. Parents, feel free to contact me with any questions or to discuss your child’s reel!
